Europe: Final Fight on Virtual Console

This week Virtual Console allows you to take on the street thugs of Metro City. Based in the same universe as the Street Fighter games, Final Fight is a much loved side-scrolling beat-em up, originally released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
Following the exploits of the Mayor of Metro City, as he takes the law into his own hands to rescue his kidnapped daughter, Final Fight features all the elements of a great fighting title, including sinister bosses to devastating special attacks.
Final Fight smashes its way onto the Virtual Console for 800 Wii Points.

Street Fighter II coming to a phone near you

Street Fighter II will have about 80 percent of the original game's combinations in order to adapt to more awkward keypad mashing. So though its not a full port it is enough to keep you busy while you wait in line or any other time you play games on your phone.
No release date is set so keep an eye out here for more info as it becomes available.

NARUTO: Uzumaki Chronicles 2 follows the success of its prequel to deliver an original adventure with intense combat. Based on the hit animated TV series SHONEN JUMP NARUTO, from VIZ Media, players can expect fierce ninjutsu action with challenging missions set in a picturesque anime-style 3D world.
NARUTO: Uzumaki Chronicles 2 is set to be released in late-summer 2007.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix coming this fall...

The Capcom arcade classic receives a whole new look as Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix comes to both the, PLAYSTATION Network and Xbox LIVE this fall.
Capcom will maintain the integrity of the popular game by utilizing the original game code while upgrading the graphics with new artwork and high resolution 1080p images.
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will include both online and offline competition for one to two players.

Virtua Fighter 2 comes to the Wii Shop Channel

Virtua Fighter was the very first 3-D fighting game in the industry and introduced six unique characters, each with their own martial arts style. In Virtua Fighter 2, the intrepid fighters return to the World Fighting Tournament. Players take to the stage to see who will claim the championship title.
Virtua Fighter 2 goes live at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Nintendo adds new games to the channel every Monday. Cost: 800 Wii Points

WarTech Senko no Ronde gets publisher

Ubisoft announced that it will publish WarTech Senko no Ronde for the Xbox 360 in North American and European territories in May 2007.
WarTech Senko no Ronde thrusts the player into a distant future where humanity has colonized countless new galaxies and Earth has become a planet mined for its natural resources. A violent war has erupted as nations struggle for world domination. Rounder Mechs fill the skies as the fate of the world is determined through aerial combat.
WarTech Senko no Ronde is rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB.

ART OF FIGHTING ANTHOLOGY is a comprehensive collection featuring the entire ART OF FIGHTING trilogy. A total of 33 classic SNK characters are included, each with their own fighting styles and unique moves.
ART OF FIGHTING was SNK’s second fighting-game franchise, set in the same universe as the FATAL FURY franchise, and serving as a prequel to the FATAL FURY saga.
ART OF FIGHTING ANTHOLOGY will be available for PlayStation 2 system in May 2007.

Mortal Kombat II finally makes it to PS3

Well when we last reported on Mortal Kombat II for the PlayStation Network, we said it was coming out in March. That obviously didn't happen but we are happy to report that Mortal Kombat II is now available on the PlayStation Network for $4.99. Mortal Kombat II comes complete with online play, so go NOW and beat up some serious butt!

Mortal Kombat Movie News....

Yes you heard that right another MK movie, which Christopher Mink will direct the new film that will retell/restart the story of the Mortal Kombat universe.
The movie would also fall in line with MK co-creator Ed Boon's vision of a completely reborn fighting game for the eighth sequel in the series. The script being which is still under heavy developed by Midway and another, unknown studio, though progress is being made albeit slow.
