CapcomStreet Fighter 4 ANNOUNCED!
Posted by News_Team at 15:03:10 CST

Street Fighter IV has officially been ANNOUNCED!
The official title as of now, is named "Street Fighter IV: A New Beginning".
( Link to the trailer: YouTube Trailer & High Quality Trailer )

UPDATE:

CAPCOM representative Sven, from the UNITY Forums gives some information on Street Fighter IV:

"We've announced Street Fighter 4 to let everyone know it's in development. We aren't really providing any more information than that at this time, but over the coming months, you'll see bits and pieces come to light. Platforms especially aren't being discussed.

While CAPCOM USA owns the rights to Street Fighter, we have contracted Capcom Japan to handle its development (we felt they would, by far, do the best job with the title).

The game is further along in development than probably most of you think, but as we've stated, it's still quite a ways off. Again, the announcement was just to get it on everyone's radar, nothing more.

Beyond that no one at Capcom will speak about characters returning, character count, platforms, features, 2D or 3D or 2.5D, whether the trailer is representative of gameplay/character design/visual targets, arcade or not, online features, downloadable strategy, where it fits in the canon, etc.

All of that will be revealed over time... the next bits will be revealed a bit later this year."

We´ll inform you of any updates and news, as soon as we can.

All right guys, the only thing we might do right now, is to get to the CAPCOM Forums, tell them your suggestions and ideas build on experience, and then just wait for them to turn everything to the best possible result!
All that´s left then, is to wait and hope! =)

Head over to the Capcom forums, to help them make this a GREAT game and the BEST of it´s kind!

Administrator of the CAPCOM Forums (Excerpt from SF4 Welcome thread):

"Welcome to everyone, old and new.

You have come to THE place to make your voice heard on SFIV, as well as on other Capcom brands.

These are the forums read by important people throughout the Capcom organization and the suggestions made here have a track record of making a DIRECT impacts on games (initial releases as well as patches).

Happy to see you all Looks like a great group so far, and please keep the suggestions coming.

best,
Seth"

"Games Radar", on Street Fighter IV:

"Street Fighter 4
Development has just begun and the release of the game is more than a year away. No platforms are yet confirmed - a highly stylised animated concept trailer of Ryu and Ken fighting was shown, but no game footage."

Games Website "1UP" seems to know just as much:

"As Capcom's media event gets started overseas, the company has already dropped one spectacularly major, but long awaited, announcement by revealing Street Fighter IV is currently in development. Capcom's community website has been counting down for over a week now, as gamers have speculated over what could be such a big deal.

The short teaser is nothing more than some Ryu and Ken stylized artwork of them fighting, with no word on what platforms the game is coming to or a projected release date. Clearly, Capcom is strictly teasing at this point.

Of all games, Street Fighter IV is probably worthy of such a countdown, considering Capcom released the original iteration of Street Fighter III back in 1997. A few months later came 2nd Impact: Giant Attack, which tweaked the gameplay and introduced two new characters, eventually followed up by 3rd Strike: Fight for the Future, bringing back Chun-Li and an addition four new characters, in 1999.

Unfortunately, we don't know anything more than that, and any impressions or announcements from the event are embargoed until later this week. Until then, let the speculation begin on what Capcom's bringing to the table in their latest numbered sequel in the Street Fighter series."

UDON Comics, working with Capcom, have confirmed the news in their Journal on DeviantArt.com:

"Street Fighter IV is Real
Journal Entry: Wed Oct 17, 2007, 8:56 AM
Finally!
We can finally tell you that Street Fighter IV is in development.
We can't say any more than that at this stage.
We'd link to Capcom's official blog, but it looks like the traffic from the announcement has brought down their website, heh."

THANK YOU, CAPCOM! =)

CapcomCapcom Teasing Megaton Bombshell News (SF4!?)
Posted by News_Team at 21:22:12 CST

PREPARE YOURSELF

A bit late, the NEWS is from from 10/10., but hell, could this finally be it?
A totally new installment to the Street Fighter franchise, that made CAPCOM so famous, coming along and SF2 HD just being the little CANDY to accompany and celebrate this event?

"Brian Dunn, of Capcom, extends the tease, writing "We have our Gamer's Day event in London next Wednesday (10/17), but there will be announcements and things starting to come up on Monday (10/15) and continuing all week." Dunn also added, somewhat conspicuously, to the comments thread "everyone at Capcom knows all the fans are extremely anxious for a NEW SF game, believe me. That's about all I can say about that..."

On 10/10., the official Capcom blog updated with a very cryptic posting titled "Prepare Yourself" with the following message:

??? ???? ????????????? ???? ??? ????????? ? ????? ? ??????.

??????? ???????? ??? ? ?????!

And, no, that's not a product of shitty international character support on your Windows box, it's just a series of question marks."

Head over to the Capcom Website, to check the Live-Countdown, on top, in the flash, click the little thumbnailed earth on the very left!

Capcom Unity

And no, Bionic Commando is not the "Prepare Yourself Announcement", it is ONE of the big news from Capcom, but not related to this, Capcom has several big announcements planned (and not just 3, as it was rumored on the TGS already!)
Check the Live-Countdown for the "Prepare Yourself Announcement" on the link above.

LET´S PRAY!

SNKSNK USA Announces two titles for the PS2
Posted by godboko71 at 20:44:57 CST
SNK PLAYMORE USA today announced THE KING OF FIGHTERS XI and NEOGEO BATTLE COLISEUM for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system.

THE KING OF FIGHTERS XI expands on the winning KING OF FIGHTERS formula with new strategic options like Quick Shift and Saving Shift, which allow greater precision and control when switching out characters, the match-deciding Judgment Indicator, and Dream Cancel, which wreaks even more havoc than the Super Cancels found in previous games. In addition to all the 2D-fighting goodness found in the popular arcade version, THE KING OF FIGHTERS XI for PlayStation 2 system offers exclusive features including extra characters, bonus stages and brand- new music.

Set in the year 2017, NEOGEO BATTLE COLISEUM pits players against a man determined to rule the NEOGEO world. The game employs a two vs. two tag- team battle system allowing players to switch characters during play and perform team attacks on their opponents. The character roster has 40 characters represented by well-known faces from the likes of WORLD HEROES, ART OF FIGHTING, FATAL FURY, SAMURAI SHODOWN, LAST BLADE, METAL SLUG and KIZUNA ENCOUNTER.
