New Mortal Kombat Deadly Aliiance Info and Images
Posted by White_Pointer @ 21:38:23 AEST
We now have more confirmed characters for Mortal Kombat:Deadly Alliance! The Full list of Returning characters now includes:

Scorpion
Sub-Zero
Jax
Sonya
Shang Tsung
Quan Chi
Rayden
Kitana
Cyrax
Reptile

Also, some new characters have been revealed:

Malvado
Drahmin
Blind Kenshi
Moloch

I guess only time will tell what these new characters will look like, but for some new images, including a render of Jax and two new sketches on Sub-Zero, head on over to our MK:DA images pages Here and have a sticky beak.

A little more about the gameplay mechanics has been revealed also. Fighters.net received information that the general gameplay will be similar to Soul Calibur, and the most recent issue of Game Informer magazine has hinted that weapons can be knocked out of the player's hands and picked up by opponents like in Mortal Kombat 4. Again, only time will tell with these things, but it certainly shows lots of promise!

Emulators section completed!
Posted by White_Pointer @ 21:08:25 AEST
Yes, the emulators are finally up for you to download! Pube has also provided a short description of each one to aid you in choosing which one you want.
All of these emulators are hosted locally, which means you will NOT be redirected to any other site, and you will never see ANY banner ads or pop-up windows here at Blood-Sports. We value you, the web surfer, and we respect your right to view a page without seeing advertising.
I have also revamped some of the graphics and headings on the site, so hope you enjoy them!

Happy Easter!
Posted by White_Pointer @ 21:13:34 AEST
Just to show everyone that we are not ALL about blood and guts and violence here at Blood-Sports.net, I'd like to wish everyone, on behalf of all Blood-Sports.net staff, a very happy Easter, and I'll see you all in a few days no doubt! (Don't get the impression we are turning cute and cuddly though...if the thought pops into your head we'll castrate you and throw it into a snake pit! Girls don't think you'll get out of it either, we can do wonderous things with a knife! *evil grin*)

Just as a little Easter gift, all the Dead or Alive 2 Pictures have now been uploaded and can be viewed by following the links. Images for the original DOA and DOA3 are not far behind, so keep coming back for updates!

Dead or Alive 2 Pictures
Posted by Spider @ 6:50:43 AEST
Well, after scouring the net, I've gathered up some interesting pictures of all the characters from DOA2. I know there a bunch more, but they are quite elusive, so if you have them lying around, or you just have some cool shots of the game itself, feel free to send them to me. You'll be given credit of course. Expect them to be uploaded by tonight. That's all for now folks!

Random Ramblings
Posted by GooberMan @ 17:47:36 AEST
Just letting everyone know that the team I'll be working in for the fighting game I'm making is pretty much finalised. We're having a meeting tomorrow to discuss the finer points of things, so I should be able to start writing that ongoing article thing very soon. The first issue will probably discuss the design.
In other news, I'm still collecting games from all over the place to include in the history. For the initial document, I'm planning on including the International Karate series, Karateka, and Double Dragon. There will probably be a few others, but as a start those are some good titles to look at.
That is all.

New Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance Images released
Posted by White_Pointer @ 15:26:37 AEST
Midway has released a couple more pictures of the upcoming Mortal Kombat game. One is the earlier picture of Scorpion, now rendered on top of one of the battle arenas, and one is concept art of what Midway call a Moloch. Could this be the new boss monster?

Sidebar updated.
Posted by Raiddx @ 12:43:42 AEST
All the pages on the site should have been updated to work with SSI. This shouldn't mean anything much to those of you reading the site, but making the site should be a whole lot easier now.

However, if you find that any pages aren't working report them in the comments page. If they aren't working, most likely where the sidebar should be you'll get a happy greeting of "[There was an error while processins this directive]"

Enjoy!

Enter the idiot
Posted by GooberMan @ 20:40:29 AEST
*ahem* I am GooberMan. I am the latest addition to the blood-sports.net staff. The first thing I will be working on is a history of fighting games (which will be having stuff added to it all the time - there's quite a lot of fighting games out there). Apart from that, I will be submitting articles from time to time for everyone to read. Oh yeah, and I'll be working on a fighting game this year in the course I'm doing (Diploma of IT (Software Development) - Specialising in Games). One of my classmates has described the idea behind it as a "Snuff Match." Perhaps I might write an ongoing article in to the development of a fighting game, I'll see what happens when we actually get around to starting work on it.

Mortal Kombat FAQ section complete!!
Posted by White_Pointer @ 18:21:30 AEST
Well it took me longer than I anticipated, but I finally finished the Mortal Kombat FAQ's! So go and check them out.

Don't worry too much about the left hand links when you are in the FAQ section...they will all be fixed in due time, you'll just need to use the browser's Back button until I have it all integrated.

New MK:DA image released
Posted by White_Pointer @ 14:12:21 AEST
While I am completing the MK FAQ's, I have a little news on the MK scene. A new Render of Scorpion from MK:DA has been released, and he looks damn cool. See it in the MK:DA images section Here. There has also been some in-game screenshots circulating around the web, but they look like they have been scanned out of a magazine and are poor quality. It would be better to wait until Midway releases some so we can see the game in all its glory.

Short Downtime
Posted by White_Pointer @ 21:10:36 AEST
Our host had a short downtime a little earlier. While we are unaware of the reasons, it has been resolved quickly.

You are probably also wondering where the hell the next update is...I'm working on it! I'm currently hard at work writing all the Mortal Kombat FAQ's, as well as squeezing in my University work and personal life around it, so expect some more updates soon!

My real life gets pretty busy. Im married and have one child, and I work for Mcafee AntiVirus.

Hello from your Flacid Phallic Friend!
Posted by Pube @ 8:22:43 AEST
Hello hello hello. Yes, this is a great day for toilet humour when someone with a nickname of my gist becomes a member of staff.

Anyway, my job here is to report news (duh), and keep you up to date with the emulators listed down the left hand side. I'll also be doing general jobs here and there.

So for now, enjoy what we've got here (which aint much right now :P)

Am I that damn sexah?
Posted by BobXFett @ 7:27:47 AEST
Yes, I am (this is a test, and stuff).
This just in: White_Pointer over-working BobXFett, an S.O.S. was attempted but Pointer nullified the message (and the messanger...) before delivery. More to come.
But in seriousness, I'm BobXFett and I'm the guy in charge of the Super Smash Bros. area, so if you have anything you think would be cool there, send it to me (wee, I ripped off what Spider said).

Posted by White_Pointer @ 20:38:21 AEST

Resizing Bug Fixed

Okay, the page resizing bug has been fixed, it should now display properly on all compatible resolutions if the news post spans more than one line. Still trying to make some minor adjustments to the news layout though.
