Welcome to the Blood-Sports.net official forums!
This place is meant to be a casual, fun environment for you to discuss fighting games or anything else you want to chat about. In order to keep it a fun place, there's a few simple rules you'll need to abide by. Most of these are common sense so there's no need to worry.
- No posting of any illegal material or material that is unsuitable for under aged people. This means posting the material itself or links to such material. This includes but isn't limited to pornography, warez, crackz, iso's and roms. Discussion of emulators is allowed, but do not link to any roms.
- No posting of any material or links to any material that is blatently offensive. An example would be posting something that is offensive to people affected by the September 11th attacks.
- No advertising other sites, services or products.
- No trolling. For those who are unaware, trolling is making a post or posts to deliberately provoke a negative response.
- No making multiple accounts, or impersonating members or other member's accounts.
- No posting of huge images or putting huge images in your signature. Be aware of 56k'ers and users with smaller resolutions.
- Don't post in all caps. Only do it when it's necessary, like when you need to emphasise a word. Make sure the Caps Lock isn't on when you are writing your posts.
- Don't overuse smilies. It's very annoying to other forum users.
- Keep the spam to a minimum. Spam in the context of an Internet forum is hard to define, but in a nutshell, it's usually defined as thoughtless and pointless posting. This includes making posts that just say "I agree" or "Me too", creating polls just for the hell of it, making posts that make no sense at all, and posting the same topic multiple times either in the same forum or different forums.
- Make your thread titles meaningful. Give the other forumers a good idea of what the thread is about before they click it. Also make sure you post your thread in the relevant forum.
- Keep the profanity to a minimum. While the use of such words is allowed, there's no need to overuse them. If you abuse the privelage, you'll lose it.
- Keep the flaming under control. By all means let someone know if you think they've done or said something stupid, but don't let it go any further than that. Don't go overboard.
- No lame "Who will win? Ryu or Iori?" type of posts. Seriously, no-one cares. Think of something better to talk about.
- Let the moderators and admins do their job. They are the ones that enforce the rules (the stuff on this page) so there's no need for regular forum users to attempt to enforce them themselves.
- Don't use "Internet Speak" when writing your posts. Abbreviating such things as 'Be Right Back' to 'brb' may be acceptable on an instant messaging program...but on a forum, it is unnecessary and annoying to readers. Try and construct your sentences properly with accurate spelling and punctuation.
- Lastly and most importantly, respect other people's opinions. You might be a huge King of Fighters fan, that doesn't mean everyone else is. You might really hate Bloody Roar. That doesn't mean everyone else does too. Keep in mind that different people have different opinions and may not always agree with your point of view. Don't bash others because of differing opinions.
Most Importantly, have fun!
