Yeah, A site I used to go to had that. May I say that IRC was much more fun.

How about the fact that some of us just don't have the fucking time to do the chatroom bullshit.. First of all, we got work, school, or other duties needed to be completed during the day and the forums are a fast and organized way to communicate within the B.S community.. I say no to any chatroom idea, since most of us only need to talk only about one thing(fighting games)..

Yea iori is right. Sorry I am not a big enough dork to devote all of my freetime to chatting online with people I will never meet. I have this thing called a life. A chatroom is not needed. People always speak their minds on this forum anyway.

Well said... I also am not a nerd and well, you people should learn to interact with REAL people.. It's great and you can get laid, companionship, friendship, and gain trust from others.. Also, it is fun so I suggest it for some of you....

I wouldn't get too worked up... The chat is more or less just like another message board. I usually use it while I am busy with my Programming Projects. Most of the time there is about a 30 minute pause between each reply. It's nice for giving me a quick break from my work, but it's not like its anybodies life.

All nice and dandy, but some members are making big deals about this chatroom deal, and I more or less don't give a fuck.. You have members expecting this chatroom to be crowded with l33t conversations which makes it sound as if some of the members here are real desperate for some attention.. This is why we have forums people.. If you want to chat go on ICG, MSN, Yahoo etc...

I just see it as Vin wanting to make a successful chatroom fo whatever reason, (An escape from idiots, perhaps?) and Goob being his usualy Goob self. Really no reason to start yet another flame war. I agree with you that you don't have to go into some chatroom if you don't want to/and or have the time. All I want is to do is stop yet another silly war before it starts.

Man....  I'm sorry I've caused such a big ruckus here about a chat room.  Upon reading everyone posts and feelings toward it, I understand evryone's point of view.   And White Pointer has already said the law, not anytime soon.   So all the newbies and what not wanting one,  DROP IT NOW.  Many people here don't want one.  I had only brought it up for  the regulars to be able go in and be able to have intelligent conversation without newbies and "noobs" going in there and acting all fucking retrarded like fucking darkblood "it be gowd no wayy huj now byttch?"  

After joining here, I've gotten to know some of you and think all the regulars here are some of the coolest people I've met.  I'd like to think I've made friends here.  Being able to talk about things here with people whose opinions I hold in high reguard, was the main reason I brought up a chat room in the first place.  To be able to talk with everyone without all the PMs.   I had brought up the belt rank as a way of weeding out those who shouldn't be allowed for spamming and shit.  And now after reading those who wouldn't want a chat room here I AGREE.  On the grounds that it would be flooded with a whole bunch of people spamming, the bandwith issue, and some the newbies that have been getting on everyone's LAST FUCKING NERVE.  And like D said we all have our own lives to lead and such, but I am glad that Vin has made one and I'm glad to see some people have gone there to shoot the shit.  And that was the whole point, for everyone to get to know each other better.  You can bet your ass I'm on my way there.

Not many of you get the point of an IRC channel. No doubt those same people have never gotten on an IRC channel. Only the truly retarded spend every waking second typing shit in to an IRC channel. Usually, you load your client up and leave it on idle and occasionally check in and if there's an interesting conversation/debate/whatever going on you join in. MSN and Yahoo are usually one-on-one affairs (unless you add people to conversations, in which case you're an idiot for blasting IRC channels since the protocols used by MSN and Yahoo are based off the IRC protocols and in fact that makes you an idiot anyways if you consider that).

So, now that idling is an established part of any IRC session, that leaves next to no arguments about no time. I have work during the day and other shit on during the night, yet I manage to find time to idle on IRC (it's not hard - launch mIRC, forget about it).

IRC chatter is also quite different from the forum trolling that these forums have degenerated in to. It's more immediate, and conversation tends to go all over the place. Although, if all you have to talk about is fighting games then you've got a pretty pathetic life and shouldn't be allowed near a computer or an arcade stick in the first place.


EDIT: holy-fucking-dogshit-annoying n00bs wouldn't be much of a problem. We have powers of bannination in place on the IRC channel (currently wielded by Pube, Vinsfeld and myself) that can be used alot more frequently than the rather lenient use of them on these forums. One of us is usually in there idling.
