Given Namco's recent statements about how expensive making games for the PS3 is, I think this is their way of cutting development costs. Instead of making a whole new Tekken for PS3, they can port DR, throw some added stuff in there, and make some pretty graphics.

well i think namco are doing this because they are not gonna make a profit from the games unless they shift more than a million units of the games they make

I like the idea of gallery mode returning, that's a little element i really liked from TT that i preferred bowling and whatnot.
I'm still hoping they include a tag mode. This time, two Tekken games in some form are set for PS3 and i'm guessing that at least one of them must include it.

I think I read somewhere that this is untrue. Personally, I really don't see the point. Unless they are also making Tekken 6 on the side, releasing DR yet again on the PS3 would be a waste of time. I wouldn't buy it since I am sick to death of 5 and DR.

I truly think it's time to move on from Tekken 5. I know it's proven to be one of the most successful in the franchise, but after the first release, a patch, the expansion, and then the expansion's release on PSP, it's starting to get tiring and overused. It's a great game and all, but it's time for something new.

I also agree that the T5 games are getting old/boring. Even the second trailer of T6 looks like DR with a few of them wearing different outfits, i showed my brother the clip when it was released and he was like: "Is this Tekken 5 or something?"

It also looks like it'll be a longer wait then once thought for T6, cause of what neloangelo said and there's also the fact that who would really wanna download/buy another add on if there was a full sequel on the horizon?

Alright, I got my stories mixed up in my previous post. In reality, DR is coming out for PS3 which I am not really excited about at all. It seems more like a cheap way to make a quick buck than an actual game to look forward to. As for Tekken 6, it is about 10% done so far so I have no idea when that will be out.

Didn't expect there to be screens so soon after just hearing about it, good find Vicious.
Ugh....Look at that pic of Kazuya & Paul! the pants... horrid! The only thing that looks good is the stained glass window of the ice palace stage behind the two Jinpachi's in the second pic, that's about all I'd give it. I'm not the one to choose graphics over gameplay but I expected more better than that.

As of yesterday, Tekken DR is now available for download in the PS store. I'll might have to get it later this weekend since I am not as sick of Tekken as I was a few months ago. That and it's cheap.

Well, I downloaded it if anyone is interested. You get to play Arcade mode, vs, Ghost Mode, and it has a picture viewer that I haven't tried yet. All characters are unlocked automatically, and you get to play as Jinpachi this time around after beating Arcade mode once.
